Dr Thomas Durek

Dr Tom Durek completed his doctoral training at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology (Germany) where he developed semi-synthetic methods to generate and study posttranslationally modified proteins. After a postdoctoral stint with Stephen Kent at The University of Chicago, he joined The Institute for Molecular Bioscience at The University of Queensland where is he is now a senior research fellow.  He is an expert in peptide and protein chemistry and is interested in developing new synthetic methods for peptide and protein modification and studying bioactive peptides found throughout nature.
