Dr Shaodong Guo

Dr. Shaodong Guo finished his PhD in 2022 at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience from the University of Queensland (Australia) in the group of Prof. Glenn King. At the same year, Dr. Guo is employed as an early career postdoctoral researcher in the group of A/Prof. Herzig at the University of the Sunshine Coast (Australia), focusing on discovery and characterizing orally active arachnid venom peptides. In 2024, Dr. Guo was awarded Advance Queensland Industry Research Fellowship focusing on the development of arachnid venom peptides as bioinsecticides for Australian plague locusts control. A major research focus of his work is using patch-clamp electrophysiology to study the mode of actions of venom peptides on insect ion channels.
